College Graduation Announcement

My brother in law is graduating with a film degree and asked if i could come up with something fun for his graduation announcement.

Illustration Friday: Duet

The last few of my Illustration Friday submissions, I have used my kids as my inspiration. With this weeks subject, I instantly came up with a few ideas that involved my daughter and I. The one idea that I kept coming back to is one of my greatest memories that I still have with her. Over a year ago she discovered the world of "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". At the end of an episode, all the characters do a dance to the "Hot Dog" song. No matter what i was in the middle of doing, we would jump in front of the television and dance along with Mickey and the gang.

When it comes to playtime, nothing can compare to my children's favorite toys. For Elizabeth, its her husky and Cinderella dress. For Parker, its his teething ring.

Party Invitation Design

While working on my last week's Illustration Friday submission, I was asked to design a party invitation. I was really happy with the final design. In regards to my Illustration Friday "Warning" submission, look for it to be posted soon. It was a very funny moment that happened to us recently and was coming along great.

Just as we finally have a moment to relax, we hear our kids starting to stir from their naps.

As a child there was no greater moment than hearing that faint chime coming from down the street. The site of kids coming out of nowhere to swarm the ice cream truck was amazing to watch.

My 3 year old daughter is always finding new ways to entertain herself. Just last week her new discovery was wearing her underwear over her pajama pants. Thought this cute little moment would be perfect for this week's word

Illustration Friday: Chicken

This week alot of ideas came to mind, but with Pandora in the background playing The Beatles, for some reason my ideas always seemed to center around "The Fab Four". After many unsuccessful sketches of chickens wearing the classic Beatles haircut, i shifted towards the classic Abbey Road image.

Our 2010 Christmas Card

When it came time to come up with this years christmas card, a few ideas came to mind. But the one that i felt captured the feeling this year was the one of our family sitting with Santa Claus. This is the first year my son and daughter went to meet Santa so thought this matched nicely. Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and a Merry Christmas.

Here is the cover for my daughter's 3rd birthday party invitation. One of her favorite places is the park so i wanted to include that in the design. Her favorite thing at the park is the spiral slide so i thought that would be a clever way to form the number 3.

Wow..It's 2011

I can't believe how quick the year went. I had so many wonderful things happen this past year: My son, Parker, was born in August. My daughter Elizabeth, turned 3. We moved into our new house. These wonderful things have kept me very busy but have taken up most of my time. So one of my new year's resolutions will be to draw constantly. One of the things that have helped me do this is the iPad. The Sketchbook Pro application is amazing. I will do my best to update the site with either quick sketches from my iPad or more finished pieces. To start off 2011. here are a few pieces that i have done over this past year.
